The Evolve Club emerges as a beacon for aspiring cybersecurity professionals within colleges and universities across Southern Africa. Our mission is clear:

“to provide a dynamic platform for students eager to delve into the depths of cybersecurity.”

At the core of our vision lies the establishment of Evolve Chapters, strategically positioned on university campuses throughout the region. These chapters will serve as vibrant hubs where students can congregate, collaborate, and embark on an enlightening journey through various domains within cybersecurity. Central to our structure, will be the Evolve Executive Committee, tasked with orchestrating and overseeing the activities of each chapter. Among its responsibilities are

• regulating syllabi to guide students,

• establishing codes of conduct, and

• crafting constitutions for seamless operation.

Moreover, the committee will organize periodic events that span across all chapters, fostering a cohesive and enriching experience for participants. For universities and colleges keen on joining our initiative, the process is straightforward. Institutions can express their interest and independently register an Evolve chapter on their campus, adhering to the constitution and regulations provided by the central Evolve community. Once registered, these chapters can autonomously establish their own steering committees and commence hosting events, guided by mentors or supervisors sourced from the main Evolve community committee.

While each chapter operates independently, a robust network binds them together, facilitating knowledge exchange and networking opportunities. Periodically, inter-chapter engagements, whether virtual or in-person, further strengthen this bond, enriching the collective learning experience.

Events hosted by chapters can encompass a diverse range of formats, including

• workshops,

• seminars/webinars,

• conferences,

• hackathons/CTF challenges,

• quiz games,

• and social mixers.

We invite interested companies to join us as sponsors or partners, enabling chapters to benefit from the expertise of mentors and guest speakers from the cybersecurity domain.

To students passionate about fostering community and driving change, we extend an invitation to spearhead the establishment of an Evolve chapter at their university. Expertise in cybersecurity is not a prerequisite; rather, we seek dedicated individuals with a fervent commitment to building thriving communities.
